Synopsis

Buku “Tumbuh Kembang Anak dengan HIV: Perspektif Klinis, Psikososial, dan Perlindungan Hak Anak” merupakan buku yang membahas mengenai penyakit HIV pada anak secara komprehensif, mulai dari urgensi HIV pada anak, aspek klinis tumbuh kembang anak dengan HIV, perspektif psikososial pada anak dengan HIV, perlindungan hak anak dengan HIV, serta rekomendasi dan arah kebijakan untuk peningkatan kualitas hidup pada anak dengan HIV.

HIV pada anak sendiri merupakan suatu infeksi pada anak yang disebabkan oleh Human Immunodeficiency Virus yang sebagian besar ditularkan dari ibu yang positif HIV kepada anaknya selama masa kehamilan, persalinan, maupun pada saat menyusui (Garg et al., 2023). Infeksi HIV pada anak-anak secara signifikan dapat memengaruhi pertumbuhan dan perkembangan mereka.

Buku ini secara komprehensif membahas mengenai tumbuh kembang anak dengan HIV, termasuk aspek klinis tumbuh kembang anak dengan HIV, perspektif psikososial, hingga perlindungan hak anak dengan HIV. Pembahasan buku ini mencakup paotifisiologi dan dampak HIV terhadap sistem imun serta tumbuh kembang anak, manifestasi klinis, diagnosis dini, prinsip terapi ARV pada anak. Selain itu, buku ini juga menjelaskan mengenai perspektif psikosisal yang membahas detail mengenai kesehatan mental anak dan keluarga, strategi mengatasi stigma terhadap HIV, dan perlindungan hak anak dengan HIV. Opsi konseling dan intervensi psikososial yang efektif juga diuraikan secara detail. Buku ini juga memberikan rekomendasi kebijakan untuk perlindungan hak anak serta inovasi dan advokasi untuk peningkatan kualitas hidup anak dengan HIV.

Tujuan utama dari buku ini adalah untuk meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat luas mengenai pentingnya tumbuh kembang pada anak dengan HIV yang telah menjadi permasalahan global hingga saat ini, sehingga diharapkan dapat meningkatkan kualitas hidup anak dengan HIV. Buku ini juga bertujuan untuk memberikan panduan secara praktis untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan masyarakat mengenai aspek klinis tumbuh kembang anak dengan HIV serta perspektif psikosial sehingga diharapkan dapat menurunkan stigma buruk masyarakat terhadap anak dengan HIV.
