COVID-19 A PANDEMIC

COVID-19 is one of the most, if not the most, spoken word in the world today. It is probably used
in every language and in every country. The reason is simple. This pandemic has affected the daily
life of every single person around the world.
On one side is the disease and on the other side are the strategies to prevent the infection and
the spread of the disease. The disease has taken the lives of more than six million people, and
many more are suffering from the long-term effects. The strategies to prevent the infection and
spread of the disease affected everyone worldwide. Many people have been saved by these strategies.
But the restriction of social and professional life led to private crises and social losses.
It is important to understand the pandemic with all its consequences. Therefore, in 2021, we
published a book entitled ‘COVID-19 – A Pandemic’. The aim of this book was to give a brief
overview of the current state of knowledge and to structure it.
Today, knowledge has increased many times over and it was important to us to make this new
knowledge available to our readers in a timely manner. This is still important for educati nal
and scientific reasons, as we are still searching for the best strategies against COVID-19.
