Synopsis

Synergy and Innovation in Life Sciences: Exploration, Synthesis, Methods, and Engineering Towards the Industrial Bioactive Materials presents a collection of interdisciplinary studies highlighting the integration of biology, chemistry, engineering, and biomaterials in advancing life sciences. The book emphasizes that developing a competitive bioactive materials industry requires collaboration across disciplines, from fundamental research to applied technologies.

The chapters explore diverse themes, including strategies to reduce dependence on imported pharmaceutical materials through local resource utilization and chemical synthesis, development of advanced sensor technologies using nanomaterials for health applications, and microbial bioprospecting to enhance enzyme production for industrial use. Additional discussions cover the exploration of marine biodiversity, such as collagen-producing sea cucumbers, and the role of microbial biotechnology in creating eco-friendly products that support sustainable development.

The book also addresses innovations in tissue engineering and biomaterials for regenerative medicine, including artificial organs and medical implants. Overall, this monograph provides a forward-looking perspective on how scientific innovation and sustainable resource management can strengthen national capacity, promote self-reliance, and drive the growth of a bio-based industry.
